Before being introduced to the ACMAF by Sifu Dean Economos, Master Skutnik reached the rank of 6th Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo under Wayne McCabe.  Master Skutnik has taught numerous women\'s self defense classes and rape prevention seminars, as well as trained police, state trooper, and correctional law enforcement officers.  Fundraisers have always been a particular passion of Master Skutnik as shown by his raising money for St. Jude Children’s Hospital and breaking 1,000 boards in 30 minutes to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  He is a 6th generation disciple of Eight Step Preying Mantis and was given the name Shyun Di Hu in ceromony by Grandmaster James Shyun. While in Japan he studied several styles of Karate before achieving a Black Belt in Aikido.  After moving back to South Dakota, Sifu Lengefeld began studying 8 Step Preying Mantis in Vermillion under the tutelage of Master Kevin Loftus.  During his years of Instructor Training, Sifu Lengefeld attended the “Warrior Challenge 6”, a No-Holds-Barred full contact fighting tournament.  Sifu Lengefeld won the Light-Weight Championship at this tournament, and he continues to train and practice for these types of events today.  Since passing and achieving the rank of “Sifu” (teacher), Sifu Lengefeld has taught 8 Step Preying Mantis at Self Defense America in Sioux Falls, SD. Even at such a young age he felt something was missing from the martial arts and focused his efforts away from training.  He did not return to the martial arts until the age of 18, when he saw his first Shaw brothers kung fu film and fell in love with the arts again.  He looked for a kung fu school in his area, but could not find one.  Not one to be discouraged, he ordered books and videos from kung fu magazines and began his practice.  He practiced everyday this way and felt he was making some progress.  One day while in a high school class he saw chinese characters on the book cover of his classmate in front of him.  He asked his classmate what the characters meant and was delighted to hear that they were a style of kung fu.  The classmate explained that the style was called Eight Step Preying Mantis.  After doing some research on this very website, Sifu Yokota went to the Lake Park school in Florida and began his training under Sifu Tomas Sumbera.  In February 2005,  Sifu Yokota acheived his teaching certification in 8 Step Preying Mantis Kung Fu and Shyun Tai Chi.  Sifu Yokota\'s highest point of his kung fu career came when Sifu Sumbera gave him the Lake Park school.  Sifu Yokota teaches at the Lake Park school and continues his education in Eight Step Preying Mantis Kung Fu and Shyun Tai chi.'

In 1996, Sifu Shane began his martial arts training in earnest when Master Kevin Loftus accepted him as a student under the Sifu Trainee Program. He successfully passed the ACMAF National Certification in 1999.'

After receiving his black belt he decided to enroll in the instructors program and after years of guidance and instruction under Sifu Richard Mesmer graduated from the program in 2002.  “I love the fact that it is a system that is able to fuse power and grace into every action”.  He has taught at his former school in Sioux City, Iowa with Sifu Isaac Real and Sifu Michael Tschampl. Currently he is in the Missouri area where he is finishing up his degree in Physical Therapy and teaching Shyun style Tai Chi.'

In 1996 she moved with her family to Salt Lake City, Utah and studied with her father Sifu Richard Myrvik at his school. In 1997 Cassandra and her family moved to Wentworth, South Dakota. She started the Sifu Program in 2001 under the instruction of Sifu Richard Myrvik; she later passed the National Sifu Certification Testing in 2006. She is now attending Dakota State University for a major in Biology and minor in Psychology.'
